Abstract Shapes Respond to a Relaxing Melody in a New Animated Music Video for Janek Murd

Animation Music #music video #video November 15, 2021 Grace Ebert Colorful shapeshifting animations dance across the screen in an experimental music video for a newly released single by Estonian musician and composer Janek Murd. “Sicily” by Photographer Maximilian Virgilli

On a recent trip to Sicily—his third time there—Berlin-based photographer Maximilian Virgili (previously featured here) professed his love for the region, vowing to keep coming back forever. “After not being able to travel to Italy for almost two years I was absorbing everything even more intensely than usual,” he explains. Vickie Vainionpää – BOOOOOOOM! – CREATE * INSPIRE * COMMUNITY * ART * DESIGN * MUSIC * FILM * PHOTO * PROJECTS

A selection of recent work by Canadian artist Vickie Vainionpää, whose practice explores the impact of technology and digitization in relation to the process of painting. Vainionpää uses generative 3D modelling software to algorithmically produce shapes and colours, before painting by hand using oil on canvas. The images feel simultaneously organic and artificial, playfully blurring the line between the human and the machine. “FLOW_STATE” is Vainionpää’s first solo exhibition in Europe, and is on display at Galleria Nicola Pedana in Caserta, Italy, until December 5. All images © Tomás Sánchez, shared with permission Through serene, idyllic landscapes, Tomás Sánchez visualizes his long-harbored fascination with meditation. The practice, the Cuban painter says, is “where I find many of the answers to questions that transcend from the personal to the universal. Meditation is not always a fleeting time. Meditation is not a punctual exercise; it is a constant practice.” Rather than conceptualize…
