Giordanne Salley – BOOOOOOOM! – CREATE * INSPIRE * COMMUNITY * ART * DESIGN * MUSIC * FILM * PHOTO * PROJECTS

A selection of paintings by Brooklyn-based artist Giordanne Salley. Figures are placed in landscapes, some remembered and some imagined, and there’s often the presence of water and what feels like a setting sun. “I hope to transport the viewer and offer a space for contemplation. I am thinking of shadows and reflections as signifiers for alternate or imagined possibilities, alternate or imagined worlds. The projected image falling across water is broken up, obscured and distorted by waves or transparency, approaching the threshold of abstraction. In making these paintings, I find myself contemplating temporality, being, and other uncertainties.” See more of Salley’s work below.
