New York City-based photographer Katsu Naito began his ongoing series, “New Yorker,” in the late 1980’s. The project serves as a visual archive of sorts, capturing a cross-section of NYC, which he describes as “the most exciting place in the world, with a huge capacity for accepting any human dramas,” and a “melting pot for all nationalities.” Working solely with black and white film, Naito processes and prints the images in his darkroom.
